New online auctions site aims to boost used values
It’s the first time wholly-owned Aviva subsidiary Bluecycle’s online auction platform, introduced in 2000, has been provided as a white label package to another company in the automotive industry. As part of the partnership, Bluecycle will provide branded software and back-room support for the service.
Intertechnic, meanwhile, will be responsible for refurbishing and inspecting sold vehicles inhouse before delivering them to mainland UK dealers. The company, which already moves 4,500 vehicles per month, said the service will allow fleets to minimise financial losses through depreciation, while providing used dealers with HPI clear stock and round-the-clock bidding.
Steve Mennell, managing director of Intertechnic, commented: ‘With dealers under increasing pressure, our new internet auctions will enable them to save time and reduce costs by sourcing quality ex-fleet vehicles online, thanks to our new partnership with Bluecycle. Offering peace of mind that all stock is HPI clear and well maintained, for added convenience, we will deliver cars straight to showrooms anywhere on the UK mainland.’
