New LeasePlan services to help SMEs curb rising insurance costs

The upcoming range of services, announced as the AA reports that the cost of car insurance has leapt by more than £100 in just one year, will see LeasePlan launch a referral option in February 2016, to its LeasePlanGo customers offering access to the firm’s insurance partner.

Hein Du Plessis, head of product development at LeasePlan UK, said this would ensure “customers not only get a competitive price supported by our combined purchasing power but that they get the best cover for their needs”.

He added: “In our research we have found that even though insurance costs are increasing well above inflation, 60% of our SME clients would still prefer to procure comprehensive cover from a trusted source rather than simply buying on price, with only 38% opting for the cheapest policy. This response clearly proves to us that customers are buying far more astutely – in terms of understanding what is covered as long as they know they are completely covered.

“Price certainty, rather than price reduction therefore remains the most sensible approach.”
