Roberto Fonseca (pictured) has assumed the role, effective from January 2011, replacing Bruno Rousset, who has been promoted as regional director of the Asian operations of Arval, after three years of successful leadership at the helm of Arval Hellas.

Mr Fonseca joined BNP Paribas in 2005 as the general manager of Arval Brazil, where he raised the company from a start-up to a leadership position. His international outlook and long managerial experience in the long-term leasing industry for the last 20 years will be the cornerstone for the further strategic development of Arval in the Greek market.

The company says it has committed itself to high-level vehicle full service leasing and the appointment of Roberto Fonseca demonstrates its pledge for the further growth and development of Arval in the Greek market.

Mr Fonseca said: 'One of the main challenges is to guide the Greek market, which is today still very car-oriented, rather than service-oriented. Our goal is to make companies understand that the mobility of their drivers is linked with the service quality of their leasing partner and the information provided. The real value of a fleet is not the monthly rentals. When Arval provides an on-time service, our customers grow their business as this translates into a greater time for their drivers to focus on their core business activities.

'Our customers also grow their business when Arval provides them with information on their drivers, allowing them to have an improved knowledge and control on their behaviours, allowing them to take corrective actions if necessary, in order to achieve maximum productivity.'
