New flexible car subscription service targets opt-out drivers

A new car subscription service has launched in the UK, positioned as an alternative to car leasing and ownership, including for fleets and opt-out drivers.

The new mycardirect subscription service has been launched by CEO Duncan Chumley, who brings 24 years of industry experience

The fully online mycardirect service enables drivers to choose from a range of vehicles, including electric and hybrids, across any length of time, from one month through to 24. And drivers can switch between different vehicles, giving them a chance to try different powertrains or vehicle types to suit business or leisure requirements, as needed.

The service taps into booming demand for subscription-based services, which are now dominating everything from software to razor blade sales.

It’s been launched by CEO Duncan Chumley, who will be familiar to many in the fleet and automotive sectors due to his 24 years of industry experience. Previously managing director at PSA’s Free2Move Lease UK and sales director of Citroën Financial Services, Chumley joined Daimler Fleet Management in 2019 before leaving to start mycardirect.

Mycardirect launch offers start from £329 and drivers pay for an inclusive package, with no maintenance, vehicle tax, MOT or replacement tyre worries. Everything is also carried out completely online.

“I am absolutely delighted to launch our new driver proposition, mycardirect,” said Chumley. “I am very confident that customers will love the flexible, hassle-free, 100% online experience and the innovative, all-inclusive subscription package.”
