New fleet consultancy launched by former Lex Autolease commercial vehicle director

With over 25 years’ fleet industry experience, most recently as commercial vehicle director at Lex Autolease, Marcus Puddy has launched Puddy Vehicle Solutions (PVS), which brings services including recommendation implementation, in-life management and fleet decision-maker training.

In addition, PVS is working with fleet service providers, such as contract hire and leasing companies, delivering a number of solutions from interim roles through to consultancy days supporting an organisation’s desire to grow, work on retention, procurement and selling services to different parts of the UK economy from large corporates to SMEs and brokers.

PVS is also targeting motor manufacturers and dealer groups to help them and their staff better understand fleet sector requirements to improve new car sale conversion rates.

PVS’s financial work is being handled by Andrew Hogsden, a chartered accountant with more than 25 years commercial experience in the asset finance and fleet industries.

Puddy said of the new business: “I want to provide consultancy but then take that next step and support those companies with implementation and make the recommendations work with their suppliers and their employees to ensure a smooth transition, whilst ensuring that any identified savings are realised and recorded.”

He added that for consultants to ensure they were providing the best advice for their customers they should be able to help the client implement the recommended solutions. This includes providing the right tools, with PVS offering a number of technologies including health and safety solutions such as technology to restrict mobile phone use while driving.

PVS has also teamed up with Lightfoot, driver behavioural technology from Ashwoods to help improve and sustain good driver behaviour.

Finally, PVS is offering training to all its customers via Somerset Promotion, Learning and Training (SPLAT), a Community Interest Company (CIC) and a social enterprise. The SPLAT team is comprised of individuals with extensive, high level corporate experience offering training for personal and business development. The organisation is accredited by The Academy of International Management, which also validates all courses.
