New Citroën C1 to be priced from £8,245

By / 10 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, the new C1 is launched alongside sister models the Toyota Aygo and the Peugeot 108 and offers two bodystyles – three or five doors – along with three petrol engine choices, three trim levels with the option of a new retractable roof.

Dimensions are almost identical to its predecessor, with only a 40kg weight increase between the two cars – the new C1 weighing 840kg. Wider front and rear tracks and a new suspension setup are said to give the new C1 improved handling and better ride quality.

The petrol line-up combines a VTi 68, available with either a five-speed manual or a five-speed automatic manual Efficient Tronic Gearbox (ETG), or as an e-VTi 68 Airdream five-speed manual with Stop & Start technology.

The range-topping three-cylinder VTi 82 uses PSA’s new PureTech petrol engine to offer 82bhp and 65mpg with CO2 emissions of 99g/km – the most powerful C1 yet.

Trim levels start with the Touch, which offers standard specification including ABS, EBA, ESP, power steering, high frequency remote central locking, electric front windows, six airbags, an MP3 compatible audio system, a USB socket and LED daytime running lights. This trim is only available with the VTi 68 engine in manual guise.

The next trim up, dubbed Feel, adds air conditioning, DAB digital radio, 7-inch Touch Drive interface with Mirror Screen technology and steering mounted controls, along with body-coloured door mirrors and door handles.

The top-spec Flair sports 15-inch alloy wheels and additional features including a speed limiter, rev counter, reversing camera, electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors, a leather steering wheel and dark tinted rear windows.

Optional extras include automatic air conditioning, automatic headlights, keyless entry & start and styling details such as black leather upholstery and various interior colour packs.

There’s also the option of the “Airscrape” retractable roof, which is only available with the Feel and Flair trims and adds an extra £850.

There will be eight body colours to choose from, including four metallic options, along with three wheel designs and four interior upholstery finishes. The fabric roof will be available in three colours for the Airscape models (Black, Grey & Sunrise Red).

The new C1 range starts at £8,245 for the C1 Touch VTi 68 manual three-door, rising to £11,935 for the Airscape Flair VTi 68 ETG five-door.
