Neighbourhood policing team goes green with Outlander PHEV

Humphris of Oxford has lent the Witney Neighbourhood Policing Team the Mitsubishi for the next six months to enable its officers to get out into the community more.

Previously the team of nine PCSOs and four neighbourhood officers only had one car available, and a van they could only use during the day as it was needed by another part of the Thames Valley force every evening.

PCSO Tracy Waller said: “Having the Outlander PHEV will help our Neighbourhood Policing Team be more visible in the community, which is great. It means we will be able to get out to incidents in rural areas much quicker. It’s brilliant for us and we are really grateful to Humphris of Oxford for lending it to us, it’s a big help.”

Waller added: “This is the first hybrid vehicle that Thames Valley Police have got and they are really interested to see how it works for us, in terms of the fuel consumption and the savings we make. We are trying to save money and having the Outlander PHEV will help with that.”
