Mycompanyfleet develops enhanced driver checking solution
The new service not only checks and validates driver licence status, but also carries out deeper background checking of a driver’s qualifications, references and even criminal record.
Mycompanyfleet, the automotive arm of HR solutions provider, NorthgateArinso, says it identified the need for such an enhanced solution following approaches from fleet clients who wanted to go further into the backgrounds of their drivers and to carry out deeper checks on their credentials.
The findings feed automatically into Mycompanyfleet software solutions to produce integrated driver records in one place which can be accessed by multiple departments, including fleet and Human Resources.
Andrew Leech, business manager at Mycompanyfleet, said: 'The UK employment scene has been increasingly complex, with growing numbers of nationalities and a wide variety of backgrounds.
'But a company still has a duty to show in a transparent and auditable manner that its drivers and vehicles are fit for purpose under legislation such as the Health and Safety at Work Act.
'We have now introduced these deeper background checks as part of an enhanced driver checking service that increasing numbers of our clients are asking for.
'The intention is to provide a one-stop shop of all driver records, improved management of vehicle and driver alike and the creation of a central and readily accessible source of driver information for various departmental managers,' he concluded.
