MPG Marathon starts (gently and with little throttle)

By / 12 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

Dozens of drivers and navigators will set off in an array of cars and vans over the two-day route in the hope of extracting the lowest fuel consumption from their vehicles.

This year's event takes place once again at the Costwolds Water Park. Previous competitors have included everyone from celebrities, academics and motoring journalists to senior figures in the automotive industry, with coverage across regional and national press.

Last year’s winner Mick Linford has retired his three-time winning smart fortwo diesel and will pilot a low emission Kia Rio instead, while manufacturers including BMW, Volkswagen, Vauxhall, Toyota, Audi, Ford, Fiat, Citroen, Lexus, Jaguar and Peugeot are all involved.

Sponsors of the high profile event, which this year heads into Wales and the West Country include AA Business Services, the Energy Saving Trust and TRACKER.
