MileageCount launches combined fuel card and mileage capture software

The new solution is intended to offer a secure and accurate means of reconciling fuel consumption and mileage capture data to support businesses with full HMRC Level 3 VAT reporting.

The MileageCount fuel card can be used for fast, easy refuelling with diesel and petrol at virtually all of the UK’s forecourts. This includes supermarkets and motorway service stations for an unbeatable, combined total of more than 7,600 locations.

The MileageCount fuel card is available to users of MileageCount fleet management software. This offers simple, highly accurate mileage capture via GPS dongle, powered in-car by USB or power socket, or through use of an Apple or Android Smartphone app. It also enables manual mileage entry with Google validation.

Options include a Management Information Dashboard, for overview and exception reporting, integrated with countrywide fuel card data. This is presented in a user-friendly format that incorporates fuel consumption, fuel efficiency and individual vehicle emissions reporting to both DVLA and DEFRA standards. Journey data is collected and analysed automatically for trip-by-trip business/private mileage verification, with all information presented to meet HMRC guidelines. Information displays can be tailored according to the circumstances for each individual driver.

The MileageCount fuel card was developed in collaboration with FleetCor, the owner of Allstar in the UK.

Peter Bridgen, Allstar MD, said: “We are delighted to extend the use of our fuel card product to such a leading corporate mileage capture solution. As leaders in our own field, we have a natural bias towards other leading vendors and there is an obvious fit with MileageCount.”

Jez Strong, MileageCount product manager, said: “This is a significant advance for MileageCount, which now offers an unparalleled one-stop, single-login solution for fleet management. Organisations face a major challenge in monitoring fleets for everything from fuel use to drivers’ duty-of-care and the combination of the MileageCount software and the MileageCount fuel card offers a perfect solution.”

The MileageCount fuel card will be launched in June 2015, with the MileageCount team ready to answer questions in detail, at the Fleet World Fleet Show 2015, held at Silverstone on 12th May 2015.
