MG opens order books for ZS EV

SAIC Motor subsidiary MG Motor UK has opened order books for its ZS EV electric car.

MG ZS EV

The brand’s first fully electric car, the ZS EV will go on sale alongside petrol versions of the ZS. Details for pricing, range and the motor are yet to be revealed but MG has said it’s powered by a 44.5kWh water-cooled battery with rapid charging capability that will enable it to be recharged from 0-80% in 43 minutes, while a full charge using a domestic 7kW unit takes 6.5 hours. Certified range on current WLTP test regulations is expected to be confirmed in Q3.

Equipment will add on the petrol ZS with a range of new standard features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Assist featuring automatic low-speed steering, Blind Spot Detection, Autonomous Emergency Braking and Pedestrian Alert Control System.

It also gets a panoramic, sliding sky-roof, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, DAB Radio, keyless entry and sat nav, plus the brand’s seven-year warranty.

Daniel Gregorious, head of sales & marketing at MG Motor UK, said: “The arrival of the MG ZS EV represents the start of MG’s long-term brand and product expansion plan. ZS EV adds a new dimension to the car market by offering high-tech zero-emissions transport to a broader cross-section of buyers.”
