Mercedes-Benz fleet sales boom
Year-to-date, the firm has registered 32,198 new cars in the business sector, an increase of 39.2%.
Year to date (YTD) figures released by the SMMT show Mercedes-Benz Cars has registered 76,570 new cars overall, up 10% on 2010’s results of 69,617 vehicles. With a full month left to report, Mercedes-Benz has already beaten the full-year results from 2010 (when 74,919 new cars were registered).
In an overall UK car market that fell some 4.5% YTD, Mercedes-Benz also recorded its best-ever November, with 6,033 cars registered, up 10.7% on the same month last year. This gave Mercedes-Benz Cars a market share of 4.5% – another best-ever performance, the firm claimed.
Six model ranges have recorded significant double-digit growth YTD in 2011, with C-Class Estate, the SLK-Class Roadster, E-Class Cabriolet, CLS-Class four-
door Coupé, GL-Class and the R-Class all reporting at least 40% improvements this year compared with the first 11 months of 2010.
The new-generation C-Class Saloon is 12% up on YTD 2010, with 18,797 registrations, and the C-Class Estate improved 61.8% to 6,832 new cars.
