Mercedes-Benz B-Class pricing and specs announced

Mercedes-Benz has opened order books for the new B-Class, which is priced from £26,975 OTR and includes two RDE-2 compliant diesels.

Mercedes-Benz B-Class

Available in two variants – the 146bhp B 200 d and the 185bhp B 220 d – the 2.0-litre engine brings emissions of 115 and 116g/km respectively and is married up with an 8G-DCT 8-Speed automatic transmission. As it’s RDE2-compliant, it escapes the 4% BiK diesel surcharge.

However, the entry-level model is the B 180, which uses a 132bhp version of the 1.3-litre petrol also seen in 159bhp guise in the B 200. These use a 7G-DCT 7-Speed automatic transmission as standard and are both capable of delivering up to 51.4 mpg on the combined cycle, while the B 180 emits 125g/km and the B 200 emits 126g/km.

Two trims are available: Sport and AMG Line. The Sport trim line comes as standard with: MBUX multimedia system with voice activation, seven-inch cockpit display and seven-inch touchscreen media display, reversing camera, 17-inch alloys wheels, hard-disk navigation, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Speed Limit Assist, DAB radio, keyless ignition and automatic two-zone climate control.

AMG Line customers adds 18-inch AMG alloy wheels, three-spoke multifunction sport steering wheel in nappa leather, sports seats, diamond radiator grille with chrome pins and single louvre, AMG bodystyling, and carbon-structure trim with Artico and Dinamica microfibre upholstery with red contrast stitching.

Order books are open now with first deliveries in spring 2019.
