Teased in newly published images, the concepts include a preview of the next-generation Mazda3, built on the brand’s Skyactiv vehicle architecture and powered by Mazda’s recently announced Skyactiv-x petrol engine family that will use compression ignition to bring similar or better fuel efficiency than its current diesels.

Also making its debut will be a four-door saloon that gives a glimpse of Mazda’s future design concept, building on the KODO design language that debuted on the Mazda CX-5 in 2012.

The Tokyo line-up will also include the CX-8 three-row crossover SUV with major upgrades to the Skyactiv-D 2.2 clean diesel, as well as a special edition Mazda MX-5 Red Top. Although the CX-8 will be on sale in Japan in December, the brand has not announced whether the models will make it to the UK or Europe. For more of the latest industry news, click here.
