The centre welcomed more than 1,400 visitors to its lanes and online across the four auctions held during launch week (25-29 September), with more than 1,650 cars sold from 12 vendors.

The launch week also saw the UK introduction of the double blocking concept from the US, which enables more vehicles to be sold simultaneously by increasing the number of rostrums per lane. The event, which made use of the four rostrums located across two lanes at Bruntingthorpe, drew praise from Dean Walker, head buyer at used car supermarket Motorpoint, who said: “The pace of sale allowed us to view several cars simultaneously, and we had great success. The Manheim Bruntingthorpe auction centre is a great asset to the industry and we look forward to attending further auctions at the site.”

The site also includes audio visual technology, a new-generation audio system and a premium executive lounge, with Manheim promising further innovations, both in-lane and online. For more of the latest industry news, click here.
