The company has announced record bidding figures on trucks and vans with commercial vehicle buyers via Manheim’s Simulcast purchasing platform. A total of 180 trade buyers from around the country made nearly 700 online bids for 161 vehicles and bought 73 of those commercial vehicles. This represents 25% of all commercial vehicles sold on the day.

“Star” vehicle sales included a 58-plate FIAT Ducato Maxi 3.0 Multijet (160) with 91,000 miles which sold for £5,650 (123% CAP), a 08-plate Ford Transit T280 MWB with 27,000 miles which sold for £7,500 (132% CAP), a 58-plate Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 311 MWB with 27,000 miles which sold for £11,000 (110% CAP) and a 06-plate Volkswagen Transporter T30 (84PS) with 119,000 miles which sold for £6,250 (119% CAP).

James Davis, General manager Commercial Vehicles, Manheim Remarketing, commented: ‘The record-breaking sale was an incredible result and shows what a big part Simulcast now plays in the lives of the modern commercial vehicle buyer. It is recognised throughout the commercial vehicle remarketing industry as an essential business tool for most trade buyers.

‘It gives access to the widest possible range of vehicles and provides the technology that allows vehicles to be bought from remote locations. In a market slowly becoming starved of stock, it shows that buyers are willing to do their homework and buy from auctions no matter how far away and with our detailed online vehicle appraisals and instant bidding they can do so in absolute confidence.’
