London Cycling Campaign publishes top tips for those returning to cycling

New safety advice on cycling has been published by the London Cycling Campaign (LCC) as many people turn to cycling for essential journeys during the coronavirus pandemic.

LCC advice includes making sure your bike is safe and to prevent it from being stolen

Although many health experts have advised that walking and cycling can be a good way to get around in cities, in particular due to restrictions on public transport, the charity says it’s essential that riders follow the latest government advice. This includes only making end-to-end journeys that are essential, keeping social distance from others at all times and staying at home to self-isolate where necessary.

Alongside this, LCC says it’s important for people who haven’t cycled for a while to start with short journeys on quiet roads to build skills and confidence, and to make sure their bike is safe and roadworthy.
