Lightfoot expands driver rewards tech to public
Lightfoot is making its driver behaviour technology available to the general public for the first time, building on its fleet success.
The device goes on sale at Halfords in Exeter – the firm’s home city – before rolling out nationally, priced at £129, with a fitting fee of £30 and a monthly subscription of £3.99. Lightfoot is also exploring global launch plans.
The UK launch will highlight how Lightfoot can cut costs and drive safety. In the fleet sector, the rewards-based driver technology has helped customers to reduce fuel costs by up to 20%, harmful emissions by 20-30%, and at-fault accidents by up to 60%,
The consumer product will also show focus on Lightfoot’s potential to save drivers more than £750 a year through perks including 40% off AA breakdown cover, 20% off car insurance and 15% off services at Service Stop.
Mark Roberts, Lightfoot’s founder and CEO, said: “We’re taking the next step in rewriting the relationship between driver and vehicle by expanding our offering to private drivers.
“Our plan is to roll the consumer product out across the UK within the next year. We want to enable everyone – be they fleet drivers who use Lightfoot at work, their friends and family, or anyone else on the road – to benefit from genuinely rewarding driving that is good for their wallets and the planet.”
