Lexus issues global recall of 11,500 LS 460 and LS 600h models
The recall, which comes hard on the heels of other Toyota and Lexus product recalls, forms the latest blow to the car manufacturer and affects some Lexus LS 600h and LS 460 models equipped with the Variable Gear Ratio Steering (VGRS).
From early estimates, Lexus says that the action will affect approximately 11,500 vehicles globally, of which around 3,800 are in the US and 40 are in the UK.
Toyota Motor Corporation reports that it has been investigating the issue since March this year and has received approximately 10 complaints in Japan. No accidents have been reported relating to this issue.
The problem occurs at low speed after executing a vehicle turn and involves the steering wheel not returning to the centre even though the driving wheels are straight.
