LeasePlan programme to help corporates switch to EVs

LeasePlan is launching a new electric vehicle pilot programme to help large corporates make the transition to electric vehicles.

LeasePlan’s sustainability strategy aims to achieve net zero emissions from the total LeasePlan fleet by 2030.

Announced today at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP23) in Bonn, Germany, the fully scalable programme will enable fleets to pilot electric vehicles while also facilitating the implementation of charging infrastructure at customers’ offices and employees’ homes. The programme can also cover the use of 100% renewable energy where possible.

The launch follows the leasing giant’s announcement earlier this autumn that it has joined the EV100 programme as it looks to migrate its customers to EVs in line with its ambition to achieve net zero emissions from the corporate automotive sector by 2030.

The full pilot will be available in the UK, Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and Portugal from December, with a further rollout planned for Italy, Spain and Sweden in the first quarter of 2018.

CEO Tex Gunning said: “We see an increasing demand for electric vehicle fleets from corporate companies that want to lower their overall emissions and help tackle climate change. As part of our 2030 Sustainability Strategy, LeasePlan is fully committed to helping these customers make the switch.”For more of the latest industry news, click here.
