Large turnout for VDIK's EV event
The session took place at the association's Berlin office. Following various presentations in the morning, attendees took advantage of the opportunity to take series-produced electric vehicles from the international manufacturers on a road test through Berlin.
VDIK president Volker Lange said: 'The VDIK and its member companies recognized the importance of electro-mobility early on and have developed this alternative engine technology to series-production maturity. On the occasion of the EV test drive event, it is my pleasure to inaugurate a charging station right here on the property of the VDIK office in Berlin and to highlight through these test drives the superior position of the VDIK member companies when it comes to electric vehicles.'
The VDIK says that around 170 electric vehicles manufactured by VDIK member companies have been registered since January 2011 and are now being driven on German roads.
