The new charging points will include 18 rapid chargers and 66 dual-socket fast chargers, which will be compatible with a standard Type 2 public charging cable.

The first units will be installed early in 2018 and will operate as part of Chargemaster’s Polar.

David Martell, CEO of Chargemaster, said: “There are already over 1,000 electric vehicle drivers in Lancashire and that number is expected to grow considerably over the coming years. We are committed to ensuring that electric vehicle drivers have access to charging points right across the country, so we will be improving coverage across the region.”
