Jaguar targets fleets with 129g/km All-Wheel Drive XF

The AWD XF is available to order now and will be offered with just one engine: a 178bhp version of the four-cylinder Ingenium diesel engine fitted with the eight-speed ZF automatic and F-TYPE-derived Intelligent Driveline Dynamics technology.

Jaguar’s torque on-demand AWD system features Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD) – a next-generation control technology developed entirely in-house. This operates in rear-wheel drive under normal conditions but transfers torque to the front axle when required.

The model is expected to be popular with fleets thanks to CO2 emissions of 129g/km along with official combined fuel consumption of 57.7mpg. These compare to 114g/km and 65.7mpg for the rear-wheel drive model with the same engine. Maximum speed is 138mph with a 0-60mph time of 7.9 seconds.

The AWD is also offered with Configurable Dynamics – originally offered only on V6 models and now available for all 178bhp diesel automatics as part of the 2016 model updates. This enables the driver to switch between individual settings for suspension, steering, throttle and transmission.

The AWD XF also features an Adaptive Surface Response mode for Jaguar Drive Control. This can replace the Rain, Ice, Snow mode in the Jaguar Drive Control and optimises settings to suit the type of surface.

For XF models equipped with InControl Touch Pro infotainment system with 10.2-inch touchscreen, Configurable Dynamics also offers Dynamic-i, which provides the driver with a stopwatch, G-meter, lap timer and graphs of brake and accelerator pedal activation.

And under the XF updates the Adaptive Dynamics continuously variable damping system will be available on manual transmission models for the first time.

Andy Goss, director of group sales operations, Jaguar Land Rover, said: “The XF accounted for almost 29% of Jaguar’s total global fleet volume in the first six months of this financial year, and the introduction of 180PS diesel all-wheel drive model will help to make it even more successful.”

The XF AWD is priced from £36,350 OTR for the Prestige model. First deliveries are expected from the spring.
