The Jaguar I-Pace electric car has received a host of updates, including the company’s latest “Pivi Pro” infotainment system, which appears for the first time on a Jaguar and features an all-new design (similar to the system launched with the new Land Rover Defender). The more-intuitive system is said to offer enhanced EV navigation that can show if nearby charging stations are available or already in use, what they cost, and how long it will take to charge.

Charging was never lacking on the I-Pace, with support for up to 100kW, but Jaguar has now improved the car’s on-board charger to accept 11kW as standard. This allows for the use of three-phase power supplies, common at businesses and offering around 33 miles of range per hour, while a full charge from empty takes 8.6 hours.

By comparison, using a 7kW wallbox offers up to 22 miles of charge per hour, with a full charge taking 12.75 hours. Rapid charging using a 50kW charger adds up to 39 miles in 15 minutes, whilst a 100kW charger adds up to 78 miles over the same period.

The car’s cabin filtration has also been improved and now features PM2.5 filtration to capture ultra-fine airborne particles and allergens.

Outside, the car’s design is subtly changed with a new Atlas Grey grille tip finish and customers can choose more variety with added paint options – Caldera Red, Portofino Blue and Eiger Grey – new range of alloys such as a 19-inch option and standard 18-inch wheels on S models, plus there’s a new Bright Pack option, available on all models in the I-Pace range.

The Bright Pack adds a Noble Chrome grille surround, Atlas Grey door mirror caps, Satin Chrome window surrounds and Atlas Grey rear diffuser. The contemporary Black Pack option is enhanced with the application of a gloss black finish to the rear badges.

Alan Volkaerts, vehicle line director, Jaguar I-Pace, said: “We’ve made [the Jaguar I-Pace] even better with a new infotainment system, three-phase charging and technology that benefits driver and passengers alike.

“We’ve also subtly enhanced the design with an Atlas Grey finish to the grille mesh and with the new Bright Pack option.”

The all-wheel drive Jaguar I-Pace features two Jaguar-designed electric motors at each axle, producing 400hp and 696Nm torque, and has a lightweight aluminium construction and a low centre of gravity.
