Jaama warns of multi-currency issues for fleet software if Scotland votes yes
So says Jaama, which warns that many systems on the market – excluding its own – do not have that built-in functionality.
The Scottish National Party says an independent Scotland would retain the pound, while Westminster has refused to countenance a currency union. Similarly, Bank of England governor Mark Carney has said that currency union would be ‘incompatible with sovereignty’.
Although the issue would not be a problem for Jaama’s own Key2 system, the firm’s managing director Martin Evans said: ‘Many fleet management software systems do not have multi currency capability and that could be an issue for many fleets in the event of Scotland gaining independence and new currency being adopted.’
