‘Industry-first’ automated fleet policy writer to launch

A new automated fleet policy writing solution, said to be an industry first, is to launch this spring, providing businesses with a legally compliant and operationally effective framework for their fleets.

Making its debut at this April’s CV Show, the Policy Manager solution is designed to guide companies of all sizes through creating a highly compliant written fleet policy, with a particular focus on SMEs.

Suitable for businesses that are either starting from scratch or already have some elements of a fleet policy in place, the software will enable users to access a library of document templates, produced in association with a leading firm of lawyers specialising in occupational road safety and health and safety compliance. These include a driving policy and a driver handbook, which are fully editable.

Companies can personalise these documents, add information specific to their own fleet, and then circulate the final versions to all relevant parties. Driver acceptance is recorded, document versions are stored and organised, and alerts are generated for document review, ensuring that written policies remain current and are always easily accessible.

The whole process is fully auditable and there is also access to expert help and advice in order to cover any subjects that are not included in the software.

Peter Golding, managing director at FleetCheck, said: “This product has been in development for some time because we wanted to ensure that we made it as watertight and easy-to-use as possible. We believe that it is an industry first and meets a genuine need among a large number of fleets.”

Policy Manager will be provided as a new, free-to-use portal for users of FleetCheck’s fleet management software, who already total more than 500 customers and 50,000 vehicles.
