IAM white papers to tackle changing face of fleet

Road safety charity IAM RoadSmart is to run a series of white papers to help fleets get to grips with the latest industry issues.

RedArc says insurers who go beyond expectations can win customer loyalty and trust – both hugely sought after differentiators in financial services

IAM RoadSmart’s white papers will tackle key fleet issues

Published at a time when fleet decision-makers are “facing an unprecedented level of changes” according to the ICFM, the white papers are being commissioned by the charity’s commercial arm and will look at common industry challenges and offer insight on the changing landscape for fleets.

The first white paper has already been published and highlights the failure of the Corporate Manslaughter and Homicide Act 2007 to bring companies to account for their road safety performance. The research highlights the fact that to date none of the convictions under the act relate to driving-at-work. This is despite estimates that “more than a quarter” of “all road incidents” involve someone driving, riding or using the road for work, making it the UK’s most dangerous work-related activity.

The next topic will be distracted driving while the third paper in the series will look at what’s preventing corporate fleets from investing in driver risk management programmes.

Tony Greenidge, IAM RoadSmart business development director, commented: “We’re planning to produce a new white paper every quarter, initially focused on risk management issues but we hope to open this up to wider corporate business fleet topics.

“We’re looking to further build our reputation for providing impartial, informative analysis that will help businesses run safer, more efficient fleets.”
