Hyundai’s sporty N Line trim now offered with Tucson Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid

Hyundai has added hybrid and plug-in hybrid models to the Tucson’s sporty N-Line range.

Hyundai’s sporty N Line trim is now offered with the Tucson’s electrified powertrains

Priced from £34,900 and £39,330 respectively, the new variants join the existing N-Line versions of the petrol and mild hybrid powertrains and bring increased efficiency and reduced Benefit-in-Kind for company car drivers.

The hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains already feature in the wider Tucson range. Both use the same 1.6-litre T-GDi petrol engine. In the case of the hybrid it’s teamed up with a 1.49kWh battery and motor to deliver a total system output of 230hp and 350Nm, with CO2 emissions of 131g/km (WLTP).

The plug-in hybrid has a more powerful motor and a 13.8kWh battery, delivering a total system output of 265hp, a pure electric range of up to 38 miles and CO2 emissions of only 31g/km. The result is a BiK rating of 11%.

Both feature a six-speed automatic transmission and the PHEV has four-wheel drive.

The N Line versions of the hybrid and PHEV bring a range of sporty exterior design features, including larger rear spoiler and 19-inch alloy wheels, gloss black door frames, body-coloured door mirrors and dark chrome grille. The interior gets leather and suede seat trim, along with features including dual zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors with rear-view camera, keyless entry with start/stop button and 10.25-inch drivers’ instrument cluster. The infotainment centre combines a 10.25-inch touchscreen and satellite navigation with Live services, Bluelink connected car services, subscription-free Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

A higher-tech N Line S trim is also available. This adds three-zone climate control, tilt and slide panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control with stop/go function, heated steering wheel, rear side window blinds, smart electric tailgate and eight-speaker Krell premium audio system with subwoofer. Prices for the N Line S start at £36,820.

Ashley Andrew, managing director Hyundai Motor UK, said: “The additions of Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid powertrains to the N Line trim now mean that customers can choose sporty design and combine it with powertrains that deliver both high levels of performance and efficiency.”
