Highways England awards inaugural fleet management deal to Fraikin

Fraikin has won a competitive tender to manage all 4x4s used by Highways England’s Traffic Officer Service.

The deal covers a total of 278 Land Rover Discovery and Mitsubishi Shogun vehicles

The 18-month deal marks the first time Fraikin has worked with Highways England and covers a total of 278 Land Rover Discovery and Mitsubishi Shogun vehicles. These feature a black and yellow Battenburg livery and used on A-roads and motorways to assist in the management of incidents.

Key priorities for the deal are reducing whole-life fleet costs by eliminating unnecessary maintenance events through the use of telematics technology. This will be rolled out in all vehicles to enable real-time data sharing and the introduction of dynamic servicing, ensuring proactive maintenance is triggered by live condition reporting and helping to reduce unplanned downtime and unnecessary servicing. The telematics solution will also monitor driver behaviour.

Fraikin is also providing the customer with full access to its fleet data through the FraikinView online portal, providing complete transparency of fleet operations at any time, from any location.

Maintenance is being managed by a 24/7 team at Fraikin’s new headquarters in Coventry, which will also oversee warranty and recall notices, co-ordinate with third-party suppliers for tyres and glazing, plus provide a full accident management and fleet administration service.
