Electric car drivers will be able to benefit from free rapid charging across the InstaVolt network throughout May – with no limit on the number of times they can charge.

InstaVolt is running a free charging offer for May as it launches its 100th charger.

The offer will see drivers still need to go through the motion of using InstaVolt’s ‘tap and pay’ technology for contactless credit or debit cards but they won’t be charged. The company normally levies a fee of 35p per kWh, with no minimum spend and no connection fee.

The offer is being held to mark InstaVolt’s 100th rapid charger going live; the firm is aiming to have 3,000 in the ground by the end of 2021.

CEO Tim Payne said: “The UK needs a solid public charging infrastructure and we’re working at a rate of knots to make that a reality. We’re switching on new rapid charging stations every week and we’re thrilled to have hit this important milestone of 100.

“It’s our pleasure to share that celebration with EV drivers across the UK and offer them free charging throughout the month of May.”
