Ford EcoSport gets more rugged Active version

Ford has expanded its EcoSport compact SUV line-up with a new Active version.

Ford EcoSport Active

Joining Ford’s growing family of Active models alongside the Fiesta and Focus, the EcoSport Active sits at the top of the range, priced from £21,645 – compared to £18,695 for the entry-level EcoSport – and gets more rugged styling and enhanced versatility.

Aimed as the name denotes at those with more active lifestyles, it also brings increased ride height, extra body protection and bespoke interior detailing. Other features include 17-icnch alloys, black painted roof, black body styling, sport halogen tail lamps and part leather upholstery.

It’s offered with the 125hp version of the 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol, with CO2 emissions of 125g/km.

The new model arrives as part of Ford’s new, simplified series strategy. This sees models offered in the sports-focused ST-line trim, the luxury-orientated Titanium or the more off-road Active versions. Selected models including Fiesta and Focus will also have higher-specification X and Vignale variants.

Option packs will also be simplified, grouping the most commonly-chosen options together; again focused on increasing value for money.
