Fleets urged to have say in Committee on Climate Change call for evidence

Fleet operators are being invited to provide their input on a new call for evidence from the Committee on Climate Change (CCC).

The government consultation looked at sources of emissions other than exhausts

The call for evidence will be used by the CCC to help shape its advice to the UK Government on the Sixth Carbon Budget

Responses – which will cover emissions reductions in key sectors of the UK economy – will be used by the CCC to help shape its advice to the UK Government on the Sixth Carbon Budget, which due to be published in September 2020 and will provide ministers with the Committee’s recommendation on the level of greenhouse gases the UK can emit during the period 2033-2037.

The Sixth Carbon Budget will set out a pathway to meeting the UK’s new net zero emissions target in 2050, and is the first carbon budget to be legislated following that commitment.
