Fleets get to grips with safety technology

By / 10 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

Arval’s first “eSafetyAware! Driving Experience” event was planned to coincide with UK Road Safety week, and supported by the Chief Fire Officers Association.

At the event, a number of customers visited the MIRA proving grounds in Warwickshire to try a wide range of vehicles containing Advanced Driver Assist Systems like Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping and Parking Assistant.

Attendees were given an overview of the latest systems and how they contribute to Euro NCAP testing ratings. They heard from experts at Bosch and Thatcham Research on the latest developments in eSafety systems. And they got to experience these safety systems on the track driving a range of vehicles from Volvo, Volkswagen, Vauxhall, Nissan and Mercedes.

Tracey Fuller, CSR manager at Arval, commented: ‘This event is consistent with our strategy of giving customers the opportunity to test the latest vehicle technologies so that they can gain first-hand practical experience and build a better understanding of how they can benefit their business.

‘Arval has been a supporter of eSafety! for a number of years as part of the company’s ongoing programme to positively influence the safety of road users in the UK.’

Peter Sani, fleet car manager, Maersk Company Ltd, who attended the event, said: ‘Being an Arval customer ensures access to the latest safety information and advice. This event is a great example of how they work with expert organisations to deliver value to their customers in this important area and I thoroughly enjoyed the day.’
