By / 14 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

Risk Management Strategies for Fleets, which is being sponsored by ING Car Lease and AA DriveTech, is available to view from 12.00pm on Tuesday 20 July.

Again chaired by Ross Durkin, managing editor of Fleet World, the hour-long webinar will look at how companies can make substantial cost savings in accident rates, repair costs and employee downtime whilst also improving fuel consumption and road safety.

The first session will be presented by Steve Dethick, training director, AA DriveTech, who will focus on the impact the driver can make. His presentation will explain how a structured "duty of care' programme of driver assessment combined with a blended training approach can deliver real and significant business benefits.

The next presentation will be by Diarmuid Fahy, fleet risk manager for ING Car Lease, who will examine best practice in risk management and the correct steps to follow in undertaking a risk assessment and how it can be cost-effective for a fleet operator.

The final presentation will be by Andrew Price, practice leader – motor fleet at Zurich Risk Engineering. Price will present a "live" case study of the fleet at Vauxhall Motors and how the successful implementation of risk management best practice has seen a 48% reduction in the frequency of own damage collisions on the Vauxhall fleet of company cars.

Ross Durkin commented: 'Risk management should form a cornerstone of fleet management best practice – and yet too many companies still ignore this vital component, often because of the perception of the extra costs involved.

'Our latest webinar will examine how a sound and properly implemented programme of risk assessment and management can actually deliver lower operating costs for the business.'
