Heating the cabin, with headlights and wipers when needed, take their toll on the SEAT’s range. This has seen it tumble from previous highs of 172 miles, down to below 140 miles per full charge. It is to be expected, as EVs are more efficient at converting power to motion and don’t generate copious amounts of heat like a petrol/diesel does.

Regardless of this, the battery still costs less than £6 to charge from 0-100% and this works out as equivalent to 118.69MPGe, based on today’s electricity and fuel costs.
