Fleet World Fleet: Mazda CX-5 Sport Nav+ 150PS 2WD
It’s all change for the CX-5, as Craig Thomas takes over testing.
Taking over the running of the CX-5 means a change in environment for the car. Its previous long-distance cruising will be supplanted by being a largely urban-based runabout, with occasional longer runs.
This accounts for the drop in fuel economy, but a few longer runs next month should bump that back up.
First impressions? The CX-5 has that Mazda driveability, feeling accurate and comfortable on the road. The interior is classy, if a little bland. But the one drawback that leaps out is the infotainment system: the display is small by current standards and it takes an age to start up. This might sound minor, but it’s increasingly important to modern buyers.
