Fleet World Fleet: Citroën C5 Aircross PureTech 180 Flair Plus

Martyn Collins’ latest report on our Citroën long-termer.

The C5 Aircross proved a handy accompaniment on a family holiday to France

Since I last reported on the Citroën, the miles have piled on at an impressive rate. Following a family holiday to France, plus a couple of launch trips, it is now well past 3,000.

Talking of my holiday with this car, it almost felt like we were taking it home. The C5 seems reasonably popular in its home market too, as we saw plenty of them – although none as highly specced as this Flair Plus range-topper.

After almost 800 Gallic miles, it’s the comfort of the C5 Aircross that I appreciated most – the progressive hydraulic cushions and comfort seats helping to shrink journey times. Without the rear seat being slid forward, the 580-litres was big enough for all our luggage and the climate control kept us all cool as temperatures peaked at 40oC.

One surprise of the trip, was how well the sat-nav and infotainment system worked while we were there. I know I’ve moaned about how slow it is, but it found all the places we needed to go easily and relatively quickly.
