Fleet World Fleet: Audi A6 Avant 40 TDI S line S tronic
A key swap on our A6 Avant long-termer brings a fresh pair of eyes.
The pain of losing my much-liked Volvo V60 has been slightly tempered by inheriting Julian’s A6 Avant for its last couple of months on the Fleet World fleet.
Firstly, it’s so far proved impressively frugal, plus has the optional Technology Pack priced at £1,495; this includes the upgraded MMI navigation system and the neat Audi Virtual cockpit instruments, which are excellent. Another costly option pack I’m also a fan of is the £1,895 Comfort and Sound Pack. This includes the 360° cameras, which despite the A6’s size makes parking a breeze. Then there’s the punchy 730-watt Bang & Olufsen system and finally, for added convenience, this pack includes the Advanced key, making this Audi keyless.
We might have the Comfort and Sound Pack, but the more supportive S-Line sports seats, are nowhere near as comfortable as the Volvo’s. However, this might also have something to do with the wheels – the optionally fitted 20- inchers at £910! The ride around town too soft, yet too unsettled on the move – about a size too big I reckon. Sod’s law then, that I’ve already managed to pick up an expensive puncture, which was thankfully resolved speedily by the Audi Press Office.
