Fleet Logistics appoints Steffen Schick as CEO

Steffen Schick has returned to independent fleet management company Fleet Logistics Group as he takes over the role of chief executive officer.

Steffen Schick, CEO at Fleet Logistics Group

Schick previously worked at Fleet Logistics International from 2005 to 2008, including holding the role of chief operating officer. From 2008 to 2017, he held various positions at the Autovista Group, culminating in chief strategy officer. He most recently headed consulting firm Polarlys as founder and managing director.

Schick takes over the reins of Fleet Logistics International from current chief financial officer, Michael Beck, who had also held the position of interim CEO since March 2019.

His appointment comes nearly a year after Volkswagen Financial Services AG announced it was acquiring a majority stake in Fleet Logistics under plans to create a brand-neutral global fleet and mobility management specialist.

The acquisition is the result of a strategic partnership with TÜV SÜD Auto Service GmbH, who were the sole shareholder and still retain 40%. Going forward, Fleet Logistics will be jointly controlled by both partners as part of a joint venture.

Commenting on Schick’s appointment, Patrick Fruth, head of the Auto Service Division at TÜV SÜD, said: “With Steffen Schick, we found a leader for Fleet Logistics, who has extensive expertise in the automotive industry and in fleet management. The brand neutrality of the vehicle portfolio and the independence from leasing companies should continue to be the most important cornerstones of the corporate strategy.”
