Fleet Logistics adds to pan-European services in UK with new appointment
Hackett has over 30 years' experience in the fleet industry, most recently with Leasedrive Velo, where he was account manager at the Bracknell-based business.
In his new role of senior account manager at Fleet Logistics, he will be responsible for working with large UK fleet customers, who typically have European or international operations, and providing large corporate account management and customer service expertise.
He commented: 'Increasingly, large blue chip fleet operators want assurance that they are being offered the best price available by their leasing suppliers. But with a single-supply situation that is unlikely to be the case.
'Fleet Logistics has the ideal answer with our multi-bidding solution which selects the most cost effective rates from a panel of approved suppliers to ensure the client gets the best possible price.
'My role will be not only to manage this process, but to help ensure we deliver a high and consistent standard of service to reinforce the best prices that we have obtained, and to ensure that for our customers' employees selecting and operating a company car is an extremely positive experience,' he said.
Hackett will be field based and will report to Vinzenz Pflanz, director of account and supply chain management.
Fleet Logistics' chief executive officer, Peter Soliman said: 'We are delighted to welcome someone with Steve Hackett's considerable experience in the UK fleet market to the team at Fleet Logistics UK, where we are certain he will prove to be a valuable asset.
'Pan-European fleet operators are looking for increased transparency in their dealings with their suppliers across all costs centres in general, but across the fleet in particular. Our role is to help provide that transparency, backed up by first-rate, top-level customer service and, in his new role, Steve will help us to deliver on that objective,' he said.
