Flagship new Enterprise branch in Leeds goes for greener approach

Enterprise Rent-A-Car is to open a new flagship branch in Leeds that will not only be the company’s largest UK rental location but will also pioneer new greener solutions.

The new Leeds branch opens summer 2021

Located in Sheepscar, the site – previously a vacant trade unit – will open in summer 2021 and will offer cars and vans for daily or longer rentals. It will also offer Enterprise Car Club vehicles and electric vehicle charging points.

The site, spanning 42,688 square-ft, will be Enterprise’s largest branch in the UK and enables the company to relocate from a smaller neighbouring site and increase the range and number of vehicles it can offer.

Enterprise’s work to regenerate the site will include reducing flooding risk with a new water attenuation system. The technology will protect the site from flash flooding by storing and slowly releasing surface water run-off, helping to reduce the risk of flooding downstream.

The new branch will also feature an automated on-site car wash using the latest water recycling technology. The water recycling system will save on average 67 litres of water per wash, by ensuring the carwash collects run-off water which is then cleaned for re-use.

Earlier this year, Enterprise also introduced its Complete Clean Pledge to further enhance how all its vehicles are thoroughly cleaned between each rental and reinforce customer confidence in cleaning and social distancing protocols.

Peter Cummins, group facilities and construction manager at Enterprise, said: “The first of its kind, the branch will be a key location for vehicle rental in the region, creating new job opportunities.

“We are delighted to be investing into the local area and continuing to play a part in the regeneration of the region. We are looking forward to welcoming customers and businesses when we open in summer next year.”
