The carmaker is promising improvements in packaging for the new model as well as high levels of build quality and fit and finish.

Inside, there will be a "driver-focused cockpit" and the Toyota Touch & Go multimedia system, which will come as standard on 95% of model sales and offers a 6.1-inch display with touch screen.

Three Toyota Optimal Drive powertrains will be available: 1.0-litre VVT-i and 1.33-litre dual VVT-i petrol units and a 1.4-litre D-4D diesel.
