Facelifted Honda CR-V to bring more powerful diesel
The four-wheel drive CR-V will be equipped with the higher-powered 1.6-litre i-DTEC four-cylinder diesel engine from Honda's Earth Dreams Technology series.
The new unit replaces the previous 2.2 litre i-DTEC diesel in the CR-V and bringing improved performance and efficiency. In six-speed manual guise, the new higher-powered diesel engine produces 158bhp and 258lb.ft, while emitting sub-130g/km – an 11% improvement compared to the previous unit.
The CR-V also gains a new nine-speed automatic transmission, with CO2 emissions of less than 135g/km – 20% better than its predecessor.
The two-wheel drive diesel CR-V, available with a manual transmission, will continue to be equipped with the 118bhp 1.6 litre i-DTEC diesel engine, with emissions from 117g/km.
Under the styling changes, the exterior gains new headlamps, front grille, fog lights, skid-plate and bumper; whilst at the rear, new LED combination lamps, a refreshed tailgate design and bumper complete the enhancements.
The last week has also seen Honda unveil its Civic Type R concept, previewing the forthcoming Type R model, and its refreshed Civic and Civic Tourer line-up.
