Next week’s VRA meeting will spotlight the latest developments in leasing company remarketing

Taking place on 14 March at GEFCO in Coventry, the event will include a presentation from Dean Bowkett of Bowkett Consulting, who has just completed a comprehensive report on high-level developments in the leasing sector and how they are likely to impact on the used vehicle sector.

Paul Harrison of Leasing.com will be looking at key issues affecting both business and personal leasing as well as the growth of used car leasing, online transactions, the role of dealers, subscription services and more.

Also, Nigel Dann of vehicle credit management specialist Anglia UK will speak on the changing attitudes towards PCP/vehicle termination collection and damage.

Finally, Derren Martin of Cap HPI will provide a general overview of the latest developments in the new and used car market in 2019, as well as taking a look at how these sectors are likely to change over the next few months.

Sam Watkins, chair at the VRA, said: “The leasing sector plays perhaps the single most crucial role in UK remarketing. How and when these companies choose to sell vehicles dictates the shape of the used car and van markets in many key respects.

“At this meeting, we’ll be looking at how the contract hire and leasing sectors are changing and developing, as well as how their remarketing practices are evolving. It is a subject that is of crucial importance to VRA members.”

Future VRA member meetings will cover everything from Brexit to the latest developments in fulfilment, from manufacturer direct sales to new legislation.
