EurotaxGlass's scores Kia Venga and Sportage highly on cost

By / 13 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

The residual value experts at the firm completed detailed cost-performance analyses of the two models and found that both had a competitive advantage over rival products, with Sportage rated 5.0 (Germany) and 5.3 (UK), and Venga 5.3 (Italy) out of a maximum score of 8.0. This compares to a segment average score of 4.0.

The high scoring was attributed to keen pricing and "comprehensive" standard specification. For the Kia Sportage, EurotaxGlass's also cited sensible option package grouping and pricing, reducing the cost for owners to upgrade their vehicles, if required. Fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions for the 2.0-litre diesel engine (which is expected to account for the majority of Sportage sales) were acknowledged as being among the very best in class.

The Venga MPV was also praised for its high levels of standard specification, as well as for other factors including offering fog lights on all trim levels.

'The findings from the residual value experts confirm the excellent value that Kia vehicles offer to consumers,' said Benny Oeyen, vice president marketing, Kia Motors Europe. 'Our company aim is to surprise and delight consumers at every contact point they have with our products – through striking, stylish design and build quality to excellent value-for-money and low running costs.

'As all Kia vehicles sold in Europe are backed by our industry-benchmark seven-year/150,000km warranty, Sportage and Venga also deliver longer-term gains to new buyers and subsequent owners alike, by boosting residual values and reducing the total cost of ownership,' concluded Mr Oeyen.
