Electric vehicle drivers signing up to a new tariff from E.ON can benefit from 850 free miles of charging a year as well as “competitive” pricing and clean energy.

The tariff is available now to drivers who own or lease a plug-in electric or hybrid vehicle registered with the DVLA

Dubbed ‘Fix and Drive’, the dual-fuel tariff offers two-year fixed pricing as well as the benefit of 100% matched renewable electricity certified through Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGO). Customers can also offset the carbon from gas use through CER (Carbon Emission Reduction) credits.

Fix and Drive customers also get a free 850-mile reward in the form of a £30 credit on their electricity account, which is awarded six months after they sign up to the tariff and is earned annually.

The tariff is available now to drivers who own or lease a plug-in electric or hybrid vehicle that is registered with the DVLA and is offered for residential drivers. However, the energy supplier is also targeting fleets with its E.ON Drive solution, which provides an end-to-end solution for the design, installation, operation and maintenance of charging posts, as well as providing the necessary power supply and managing its sale to the driver.

Michael Lewis, chief executive of E.ON UK, said: “It’s clear that the country needs an increase in electric vehicle charging points, whether at home or workplaces, in car parks or alongside leisure facilities. We’re leading the charge, with both E.ON Drive for businesses and now E.ON Fix and Drive for residential customers.

“Drivers need to be able to charge their cars quickly and conveniently, and for many, that means plugging in at home.

“Our new Fix and Drive tariff has been specifically designed with these customers in mind, who likely have higher electricity bills, to provide competitive pricing, a rebate and clean energy to supply their homes and power their vehicles.”
