Driver Hire to focus on counterpart countdown at Silverstone Fleet Show

The company, a leading specialist transport and logistics recruiter, will be using the Fleet World Fleet Show to promote its highly successful recruitment service, which also offers added-value services, specifically developed to meet industry needs.

This includes ‘dh Licence Check’ and ‘eAssessments’ – with the latter being a brand new service.

‘dh Licence Check’ will take pride of place on the Driver Hire stand – just weeks before the abolition of the paper counterpart to the photocard licence on 8 June.

This means that, unless employers are already using an online checking service, time is running out to introduce a safe, secure and easy licence checking procedure.

Under European legislation, employees driving without a valid licence is one of the Most Serious Infringements (MSIs) that transport operators can be convicted of, putting their ‘O’ licence at risk and seriously affecting future career opportunities for transport managers.

Driver Hire is a directly authorised DVLA licence checking bureau. Using its ‘dh Licence Check’ service saves time and hassle compared to the DVLA’s own checking system.

Other ‘dh Licence Check’ benefits include:

  • Fully configurable to match your company policy
  • 24-hour access – no software installs, login anytime, anywhere
  • Greater accuracy and reduced fraud risk
  • Protect your ‘O’ Licence with a complete permanent audit trail
  • Fleet managers able to see the status of their entire driving force at a glance

Meanwhile as the issue of recruiting and retaining the best drivers becomes even more essential, Driver Hire has also launched its new ‘eAssessments’ training and assessment tool.

The tool enables transport operators to pre-screen candidates and assess existing drivers. Where knowledge falls short, it provides online training to address this. Content is delivered in a highly accessible format using text, voice-over and video. For an additional cost, employers can, if they wish, customise assessments for their own need

The initial launch will cover the following topics, with more to follow:

  • Health & Safety at work
  • Manual handling
  • Vulnerable road users
  • ADR

Visitors to Driver Hire’s stand at the Fleet Show will be able to have a first-hand ‘eAssessments’ demonstration and to find out more about its benefits.
