Dft calls for help with young drivers at work research
In particular, the DfT would like to hear from those who have responsibility for hiring staff (general manager), well-being of staff (HR managers) and vehicles (fleet managers) but also adds that anyone who manages younger drivers would be ideal, including within SMEs.
The research would take the form of in-depth interviews by telephone with views requested on driver safety, considerations when hiring and employing drivers particularly for those aged between 17 -24, and interventions to address the high number of collisions involving these young drivers.
The findings from the research will be used to inform future policy decisions on potential interventions to improve young driver safety.
