The awards are open to all kinds of organisations, whether they are commercial, public sector, or not-for-profit, and are now open for entries until 1 April 2011.

Last year's winners shared their innovative policies and programmes at the Forum’s 8th annual conference held last week.

The Best of the Best conference, sponsored by Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance, showcased the achievements of companies across the UK in championing work-related road safety.

Speakers included Martin Clark from Balfour Beatty Plant & Fleet Services, who gave a powerful presentation on their approaches to reducing road risk through targeted driver training and interventions to reduce driver distractions, and Lynne Beale, group risk manager at Arriva provided invaluable advice about successfully implementing an eco-driving policy through winning the hearts and minds of drivers.

Speakers also urged other fleet professionals to enter the Awards in 2011, putting their company’s road safety initiatives on the map and gaining industry-wide recognition of their achievements.

Paul Wreaves, operations director at ETS Distribution, who spoke at the conference, said: 'Gaining this recognition of our work was a great honour, and has helped to raise our profile in the sector. We’ve received positive media coverage following the Awards and had opportunities to share our expertise with other companies through events like the conference.'
