The Swansea-based leasing specialist operates a fleet of more than 8,700 vehicles and has introduced licence checking as an added-value service due to client demand.

Jaama’s fully outsourced licence checking service means that once a three-year mandate has been signed by drivers authorising their employer to check their licence with the DVLA the whole service is carried out online. This removes the need for a hardcopy of the mandate to be sent to Jaama to comply with the DVLA’s auditing requirements.

Jay Lovell, maintenance controller at Days Contract Hire, said: 'We have introduced driver licence checking following requests from customers for the service as they look to comply with best practice occupational road risk management advice.

'We surveyed the marketplace to look at the options available and after conducting a benchmarking exercise decided that Jaama offered the most comprehensive solution. We believe the new service will become increasingly popular with customers as they strive to meet their at-work driving duty of care responsibilities.'
